SOMBOR,Serbia,March24(Xinhua)--TheNorthAtlanticTreatyOrganization(NATO)"saggressionagainstYugoslavia24yearsagomarkedthedeathofinternationallaw,SerbianPresidentAleksandarVucicsaidonFridayatacommemorationeventinthecityofSombor,wherethefirstbombfellin1999.

"24yearsago,themoderninternationallawfinallydied,andyoushouldknowthatitisnotanunimportantbureaucraticwording--butmuchmorethanthat,"Vucicsaid.

"Nothingworsecouldhappenintheworldthanwhatwasdonehere,toasmallcountry,whichwasguiltyonlyofseekingtomakeitsowndecisions,andtobefree.Assuchitdidn"tappealtothosepowerswhichdestroyedtheoldinternationalorderin1989/90andcreatedanewoneinwhichonlytheyhavethefinalsayineverything,"Vucicsaid.
